Seven Sharp

Seven Sharp

by Charli Cox

For those of you who first 'met' me via your TV screen last night on @sevensharptvnz - Kia ora im Charli. I'm English, 30 years old and grew up in Essex with my dad & two brothers. Upon moving to New Zealand, I soon came to realise the inadequate access some of our community have to their basic human rights - one of which is clothing. Clothing poverty is so overlooked, poor foot health is so overlooked and at this point in my life I had to do something about it. I have never underestimated the difference we can collectively make to our communities' lives but last night really solidified this for me. The emails, words and phone calls from near & far were overwhelming. Thank you ALL for sharing this unique, crazy, humbling moment and more importantly, supporting the wider team at Koha Apparel as we tackle our mission. Lack of personal wealth is a burden many in our community bear and this we will not take the responsibility of receiving this donation lightly. Money will be spent on expanding our storage, transporting clothing to our pop-ups, making many more people in our community warmer this winter and providing people the dignity that we all deserve regardless of our journey through life.

Thanks for coming along for the ride.

Charli
